The Bela-Bela Local Municipality is currently seeking motivated individuals for multiple General Worker positions within its Technical Services Department. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital infrastructure projects and gain valuable work experience in a dynamic environment.
Available Positions:
- General Worker – Roads & Stormwater (3 Positions)
- General Worker – Water & Sanitation (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
For Roads & Stormwater:
- Execute manual labor tasks related to road and stormwater construction and maintenance.
- Dig trenches and holes, clear vegetation, and prepare worksites for projects.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and upkeep of water and sanitation systems.
- Handle tasks such as laying pipes, installing water meters, and cleaning work areas.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring efficient workflow.
For Water & Sanitation:
- Perform physical tasks associated with water and sanitation systems.
- Engage in site preparation, pipe laying, and meter installations.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Basic literacy or ABET Level 1 for Roads & Stormwater positions, or ABET Level 3 for Water & Sanitation roles.
- Experience: 6-12 months of relevant work experience preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and pass medical screening.
- Work Ethic: Willingness to work long hours when required (Water & Sanitation).
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication: Good communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Integrity: Strong adherence to instructions and ethical standards.
