The South African National Parks (SANParks) is on the lookout for dedicated General Workers to join their team at the stunning Olifants Rest Camp within the iconic Kruger National Park. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of one of South Africa’s most cherished natural landmarks. As a General Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a clean, comfortable environment for both visitors and staff.

  • Location: Kruger National Park, Nxanatseni Region, Olifants Rest Camp

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Conduct thorough cleaning duties in chalets, ablution facilities, and common areas, upholding high hygiene standards.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in controlling and tracking inventory items to ensure supplies are always available.
  • Reporting: Promptly report any abnormalities or maintenance issues to maintain the camp in optimal condition.
  • General Assistance: Support the camp team with various tasks, including collecting supplies, assisting with laundry, and performing other general duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience in hygiene and housekeeping.
    • Knowledge of health and safety practices in the workplace.
    • Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
    • Basic supervisory skills are an advantage.
    • Familiarity with tools, their handling, and maintenance.
