The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting 130 unemployed Psychology and Industrial Psychology graduates to apply for its Presidential Youth Development Programme (PYDP) for 2025/2026. This 10-month paid internship offers real workplace exposure, mentorship, and practical experience in public sector career support services.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an intern, you’ll support employment counselling and job placement efforts at provincial labour offices. Core responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to Employment Counsellors
  • Conducting career guidance and labour market research
  • Registering job seekers via the ESSA system
  • Assisting with recruitment and selection processes

Who Should Apply?

Required:

  • A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or 7) in Psychology or Industrial Psychology
  • Preference for candidates with Honours degrees
